Stephen Cervantes has spent the past 10 years on a journey.  The journey has been both personal and professional.  He has a heart to see men embrace their brokenness and move toward God in genuine humility.  He desires to see men stand up in the face of a culture enamored with sex, lust, greed, and blatant immorality.  He longs for a community of godly men not ashamed of their calling to be Christian Sexual Men.

Stephen is a member of the board of directors for Be Broken Ministries, the parent organization of MenofPurity.com.  He has served as vice chairman of the board since the formation of the ministry in summer 2003.  Since that time, he and Jonathan Daugherty (see below) have been on a quest to challenge men in the area of biblical sexual purity.

The 40-Day Challenge was born out of a weekend of solitude in which Stephen was reading his Bible on a camping trip.  He landed at the end of 1 Samuel where King David sacrificed enormous offerings to God in lots of 1000.  This stirred Stephen and God challenged him to offer sexual purity as a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving.  This planted the seed for the eventual challenge we are now making through the MenofPurity.com website.

Jonathan Daugherty

Director, Be Broken Ministries

Jonathan has spent the past 7 years on a journey.  His journey has been one of pain and suffering, but also of great hope and healing.  Jonathan was a sex addict for 13 years.  You can read his complete story here.

Jonathan and Stephen met early on in Jonathan's journey to healing.  The friendship formed a bond that has included developing a vision to help men embrace their true identity in Christ and live according to that vision.  A powerful tool that has helped men grasp this vision is the 40-Day Challenge.

Jonathan travels and speaks throughout the country to men's groups, retreats, and conferences sharing the Good News of hope found through a relationship with Jesus Christ.  At every engagement Jonathan seeks to cast a vision for what life could be like for everyone there if they understood that their true design is to walk every day in sexual purity (1 Thes. 4:7).  The challenge to every man is to live each day as an offering of purity to God.  The 40-Day Challenge is a good starting point for embracing this vision.
